WHAT MY BIG SISTER IS TO ME

My Big Sister has been the most amazing friend in the world to me.  Jan is awesome.  She came to my sweet sixteen party and drove all 6 of us to Tim Horton’s for coffee after.  Jan is also a good role model for me.  She is hard working and dedicated to everything she sets out to do.  And she’s always willing to try something new.  In fact recently she took a wood working class and she is even teaching me how to do stained glass, which is going to be a Christmas present for my mom.  But it’s not just the material things thatmake her awesome.  It’s her kind words and positive reinforcement of everything I do.  When I’m scared she tells me everything is going be fine and when I’m stressed she is someone who I can talk to without fear.  Jan has made me more confident and has helped me see the best parts of me.  Having a big Sister has brought me happiness and joy and also a new friend I’ll have forever!!

Jan Maskery had thought of becoming a Big Sister, and followed through on it after meeting Katrina at a special event.  They were matched in March 2005.
